As described on the site:
Firelight is a post-apocalyptic tail of terror and hope.
Deep into the wilderness a young teenage girl Sinead searches for her bother. Firelight keeps her safe in the night, when the dark creatures roam, but these same flames draw the unwanted attention from other survivors. It's the fire inside of her, however that will be tested to its limit.
Firelight is at once an intimate, personal story and mythic tale of endurance and love.
I think this could be a really compelling film, but this is not something being backed by a major studio or a large group of heavy weight Wall Street investors; this is a film that is being financed by a grant and by people like me who are contributing to help realize this concept. This is about supporting the cinematic arts whose students and practitioners have entertained us for decades.
Ok, so I have made my appeal to those who want to support the arts and what I think will be a really cool post-apocalyptic movie, but let me appeal to your vanity, because I know some of you are wondering what is in it for you. Donors receive screen credit! Yes, your name could be in the credits of a film. You may not be a big movie star, but now you can be seen shoulder to shoulder with future cinema greats! This is something you can tell your kids about when Wes and the rest of the crew and cast of Firelight have moved on and are making blockbusters and critically acclaimed films. You will be able to tell your friends and family that you helped support one of their early films. It will be vanity run amuck!
